“Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)” A Career With a Future

Oct 18, 2016 | Students

Before getting on with our career in our professional life, we think about getting the kind of job that we specialize in or something that supports your life passion. For instance I mastered in marketing and my passion in life is being all around the soccer world, so I would look for a particular job that provides me both my aims of life in one place. Now some people also carry out their career as of what they want from the beginning. To some people this decision comes from what their natural personality drives them to do.

I believe that caring is an act of kindness that almost the world acquires by nature. The care for parents, kids and loved ones are the most conquering. But because of that everyone would not choose to become a nurse but only those who extremely care for not just their friends and family but for the whole world. These people will give their life for those in need and they only aim to serve the humanity. Now this is an emotion that not all the people are gifted with but those are given this precious gift decide to become a nurse by profession and provide all the help they can.

For a nursing career becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is the only best option. A CNA performs all the duties and responsibilities of a nurse working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). They can in almost all the healthcare centers, such as nursing homes, hospitals, elderly homes, etc.

Benefits

CNA as a career has a great increasing demand in the health care world so it provides great benefits when you’re there and will prove to be valuable profession in future.

As a Student

To begin with this career you have to apply for CNA certification exam, get state approved training and give the exam to finally become a nursing assistant. Now the good thing is that even as a student when you are getting your training classes you can get the best hand on experience in your clinical training. Not only that but it will also help you test your skills to the limit when you perform your practical part of the examination. This will help you a lot with your professional life. You know that many institutes also provide free training classes through scholarships and grants and also offer job opportunities while training. Now that’s an offer no one will refuse.

As a Profession

In professional life CNA can work in numerous healthcare centers, like hospitals, nursing homes and day care centers. Though salary differs from place to place but it should be the least of your concern when the best benefit you can get is the inner satisfaction when you help those in need. Still salary is also another aspect of life to survive. So as per the increasing demand, a CNA is paid from $10 – $18 per hour varying from employer to employer, isn’t that great news? Apart from that many employers may also provide live in facility and health insurance too. Now it would be really helpful and beneficial if you get a good salary along with living facility from the same employer, wouldn’t it?

In Future

It is obvious that in any professional job worthy individuals get promoted to a higher level after a certain period. As you get more and experience in the field you will also get promoted to a higher level in future with increased salary, more benefits and less workload.

You can also look forward to become a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on behalf of your CNA certification. As a PCT you can get further access to technical things, like moving onwards to surgical rooms, emergency rooms where you can work with different techs and perform more advanced duties. This will also provide you greater salary and other benefits. You can also choose to become a Registered Nurse (RN) and supervise other CNA nurses working under you.

All that being said, I wish I could do the same. But you surely can if you haven’t started anything yet. Go for it, become a CNA and serve the humanity, the rest will be done itself.
