How to stay motivated as a student during the exam period

Feb 20, 2015 | Students

So, your exams are fast approaching and you’re wondering how you’re going to find the motivation to hit your afternoon lecture. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone! We recognise that motivation troubles most students, so we’ve put together 5 tips to help you stay motivated leading up to and through your exams!

1# Exercise!

After a long session of revision it’s all too tempting to jump into bed, but what you really need is to release all the built up tension and stress. Any form of exercise is a healthy way to do this. Exercise carries the benefits of improved mood, more energy and better sleep (Yes! Better sleep!). So, get your shoes on and get active!

2# Diet

Eat good, feel good. The long stints in the library will leave you tired and drowsy. Eating a healthy and balanced diet will help keep you sharp during the times when you need your brain the most!

3# Snooze, you lose!

Make a habit of getting yourself up earlier in the mornings. This will allow you more time for yourself and to do things you really want to do. Complete your revision in the mornings and you’ll have the rest of the day free to do as you please!

4# Work smart, not harder!

Work smart by creating a revision plan, setting targets and beginning well in advance. Starting your revision earlier will allow you to identify areas where you’re not so strong and cover the subject in greater detail. Both critical to your success!

5# Positive thoughts, positive actions!

Despite any stress or pressure you may be under, it’s important to remain positive. Positivity breads positivity!
