We call it hidden simply because you will have to search for a good one behind the hundreds of millions of websites from places all around the world. However, you don’t exactly have to check one by one for a website that you can learn for free because we will be telling you some of the best places that you can go with to learn almost about anything for free.

Academics: Khan Academy

When it comes to video on academics, there might not be any other website that can do it as good as Khan Academy. In fact, we find that Khan Academy to be the best place to go to especially if you are a college or a university student that is learning about subjects that are in Maths, Science, Finance & Economics and Humanities. The aforementioned subjects are the ones that are covered in Khan Academy.

The good thing about this site is that everything is available for free. The videos here are highly engaging and would even help the slowest of students. Grasping the concept and tackling the problems are easy thanks to the videos that are available in Khan Academy. They currently have more than 4,500 videos on just about any of the topics that the subjects mentioned before has to cover. For teachers and lecturers, you can also check out the Teacher Resources available. In fact, if you have a class to teach, then you will find that the Coach feature available in Khan Academy to be something that will definitely help the students.

Academics: GCF Learn Free

Although it might not be as comprehensive as Khan Academy, GCF Learn Free is another great site that you can go to learn about things such as Computers, Reading and Mathematics. However, the maths section is dedicated more to children because it tackles simple mathematical problems such as Addition & Subtraction, Multiplication & Division, Fractions and Decimals & Percentage.

When it comes to reading however, it focuses only on the English language and it is good for both native and non-native English speakers. There are activities such as word videos, games and a few other learning tools that you can use to practice and learn the English language. As for the computer section, there are some Computer Basics, some Microsoft Office applications, Internet Basics, Google and a few others. They have over 250 videos and 750 free lessons so that you can learn some new things over the internet.

Tuts+ is most probably one of the best places that you can go to learn any types of media such as Video & Photography, Photoshop, Web Development and so much more. For those that are not aware of what the website is all about, Tuts+ is a network of websites with each cater to a specific type of skill. There is the Psdtuts+, Nettuts+, Phototuts+ and a lot more.

What we like a lot about Tuts+ is that their tutorials are comprehensive. In fact, one would definitely appreciate the pictures and videos that they have to offer to accompany with the learning experience. You can also pay to become a member and get things such as Premium contents or the source code for the tutorials.

Web Development: W3Schools

W3Schools boast itself as being the largest education website for web development and in most parts, it is true. The website covers a lot of topics which include HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and a lot more. The good thing about W3Schools is that you can study at your own pace and besides that, the tutorials here can be considered to be quite extensive as well. This is because you would first learn the basics of a topic before you go further into the more advanced details.
