After they finished the maze correctly, some of the rats were switched to a high-fat diet, and after four days, those rats did worse on the test than their healthy counterparts. The theory is that fat can trigger insulin resistance, making your body less efficient at processing glucose, which is instrumental for proper brain function.
Of course, when we go to school, we are hoping to make a better future in our chosen field, so being responsible with fatty food is especially important so you can avoid many of the common diseases that are associated with bad eating. We have all heard that eating a lot of fat and cholesterol can lead to an increased risk of high cholesterol, cardiac arrest, and high blood pressure.
