Tools That Can Help You Ace The SAT

Apr 11, 2019 | Parents, Special Posts, Students

Everyone is already talking about the SAT. It’s not so surprising why the pressure is already mounting.

However, instead of worrying one’s self to death, you can always look at multiple options on how to equip yourself with appropriate gear to ace the SAT.

We’ve compiled some tools to help you map out what you need for the big exam.

SAT Prep Courses

Some people are fine with preparing for the SAT all by themselves, but if you want to be more specific and targeted when you review for the exam, it might be an excellent option to enroll in some SAT prep courses.

Kaplan

Kaplan operates in over 30 countries worldwide with multiple locations across the United States. There are also local high schools that provide SAT training programs offered by Kaplan. You might want to ask around if your local high school support programs like this because you can save up to $699 compared to enrolling with a private tutor.

Kaplan also lets you decide whether to prepare for your SAT in an interactive classroom or opt for an online study. The latter can be accessed 24/7 and is available for only $299.

Princeton Review

Princeton Review also offers multiple options for the prospective student.

You can opt for summer immersion classes, online courses, private one-on-one sessions, or even a classroom type of program.

Princeton Review also has an honors program that gives you a guarantee of getting at least 2010 in the exam. The code states that if you don’t get a score of at least 2010, Princeton Review will give your money back to you.

However, the summer immersion classes and honors program isn’t recommended for everyone because it would cost you more than two grand to enroll in these classes. Meanwhile, the online courses program is something you can join for only $299.

College Board

Another option would be to go straight to the source of the exam. The people behind the College Board are the ones who make the SATs.

For only $69, you can avail their online course paired with interactive lessons, as well as free sample questions and tests.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy is a non-profit website that provides an online program for free SAT training, tutorials, and downloadable resources for students.

Back in 2016, Khan Academy teamed up with College Board so they can revamp their SAT training programs.

The Critical Reader

If you believe that you are already well-equipped with the other portions of the SAT but feel like you need to brush up on your reading and writing skills, you need not look further than The Critical Reader.

The website is administered by Erica Meltzer who is a test writer and tutor based in New York City.

You’ll be able to access exercises, study guides, and full-length practice tests for free in The Critical Reader. Meltzer also published a book on The Critical Reader and The Ultimate Guide To SAT Grammar which you can check out.

Erik The Red

If you want to polish your Math skills for the SAT, Erik The Red can be a big help.

Erik The Red is a blog site that is focused on laying out the fact and techniques for solving the Math problems that appear in the SAT.
