5 Degrees Students May Not Be Familiar With

Whether you know exactly what you want to study or not, there is a myriad of college and university programs you may not be aware of. Some of us grow up knowing nothing except nursing or lawyers and the like. There are so many to choose from, let’s see if you know these.

Computer Forensics

Similar to Crime Scene Investigation, but from the comforts of a computer. Also resembling the lawyer scene, but you’re not a lawyer. Learn how to get the cyber criminals in this fascinating profession at multiple higher education facilities, online or on campus, certifications or bachelors through Champlain University or Purdue University.

History

Seems a dull and not so intriguing subject, but you can choose from American history, Latin America, Asia with a focus on China or Japan, women through history, medieval, twentieth century, and many more. Several schools offer study abroad programs which allow you to travel to your geographic area of study, such as the University of Texas or UCLA.

Criminal Justice

Other options within criminal justice range from law enforcement officers to social workers within the departments of law and criminal psychology, on to rehabilitation centers. Not only can you get an associate’s, you can go on to earn a bachelor’s, master’s in criminal justice, or even a doctorate degree in criminal justice. Penn State University and Austin Peay State University both have great programs to choose from.

Pilot

You read that right, learn to be a pilot. Several college and university campuses in the U.S. have attached flight training schools. They can be costly, but scholarships and grants are accessible for this kind of training. If this is your forte, look into Liberty University and Caldwell Community College.

Associate of Applied Sciences Degrees

If you’ve never heard this one, it’s worth mentioning. The sciences are where its at if you’re going in for that specialty right away. These degree programs give you the potential to earn about the same or more than 28% of those with bachelor’s degrees. Some focuses are in radiology, veterinary technology, computers, physical therapy and nursing. Some places to look into include ITT Technical Institute and South University.

Even if you don’t like to learn, some places listed above are sure to be of interest and might convince you to switch up if you’re in school, or go back if you haven’t been in years. Fill out your FAFSA and see what you can accomplish today.
